Adding Procedure-Specific Treatment Consent Messages (1:27)

When the doctor performs an invasive procedure, there really are risks for complications. Some patients attempt to hold the practice liable when this happens, and a common allegation is the lack of informed consent. One of the best ways dentists can protect themselves is by ensuring patients are armed with the facts needed to make informed decisions, and the best place to provide this information is in a treatment consent form. Dentrix Ascend gives you the ability to create messages to explain the risks associated with the patient’s specific treatment. Once you create a set of messages for the procedures most commonly performed in your office, you can use them over and over again in future treatment.

Additional Information

  • You can review and revise the list of procedures associated with this consent message at any time. Click + Add Procedure to add more procedures, or click the X next to a procedure name to remove it from the list.
  • You can associate the same procedure code with multiple consent messages. If you do this, ALL the procedure-specific messages will be included in one consent form.
  • Any saved consent form contains the messages as they were at the time the patient signed it. If you change a message, only new consent forms reflect those changes.
