Dentrix Ascend Detect AI Overview (3:55)

Dentrix Ascend Detect AI is an X-ray analysis software that uses artificial intelligence. In addition to identifying potential carious lesions, the software uses interproximal radiographic bone level measurements to detect bone loss for clinical accuracy. This technology has FDA clearance and is conveniently built right into Dentrix Ascend Imaging so that it fits seamlessly into your imaging workflow.

  • Dentrix Ascend Detect AI is an added service to your Dentrix Ascend subscription. The AI icon only appears in the Tools tab when you have a subscription to Dentrix Ascend AI. 
  • The FDA grants radiographic bone loss AI analysis of bitewing and periapical images for patients 12 years of age and older. The FDA grants carious lesion AI analysis of bitewing images for patients 22+ years of age and older.
  • When you first start using the Huddle dashboard, the numbers in the toolbar will be zero because they are calculated on patient images that were acquired since this feature was enabled in your practice. As you continue to acquire images, these numbers will automatically update so that in the next six-month cycle, you will be able to monitor patients that are due for bitewings, a perio exam, or a prophy.
