The Dentrix Ascend 3D cone beam computed tomography imaging procedure allows you to diagnose, plan and provide the highest standard of care for your patients. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) devices have changed the way oral and maxillofacial radiology is practiced and have become the new gold standard for viewing patient images and advanced diagnostics beyond traditional 2D imaging. Unlike 2D imaging, three-dimensional imaging was developed to help create an understanding of the entire mouth by designing a 3D rendition of the oral cavity. 3D CBCT is an imaging technology that allows dentists to evaluate the underlying bone structure, nerve pathways, and surrounding soft tissues.
