One of the most common tasks that you need to do is check out a patient at the end of their dental visit or check out a patient if they walk in and want to purchase a product from your practice such as a whitening refill pack. Dentrix Ascend has a patient walkout feature that helps you to create and submit an insurance claim, enter the payment, and print a statement.

- If the patient purchases a product that is covered by insurance and the procedure has the Bill to Insurance switch set to On, the product will display on the Create Claim tab in the Patient Walkout window so you can send the claim.
- For Dentrix Ascend to calculate today’s patient portion, you must first post or complete the procedures performed today.
- The date will automatically populate to today; however, you can back-date a procedure if needed. Procedures cannot be dated in the future.
- Users must have Ledger rights to post and edit procedures.
