To properly consider a patient’s overall health history, you need to record the medications that a patient is currently taking. Patient medications show up in the Medical Alerts/Medications tab of the Patient Information page and can be configured to trigger an alert as needed.

- Medications are configured to alert by default because different types of medications may either affect the way certain procedures are performed or–even more importantly–could potentially cause issues with drug-to-drug interaction.
- Patient medications are in no way cross-checked for allergies or for reactions with other medications. They are simply for information.
- To modify your medication library, go to Settings > Medical Alerts & Medications. There you can add, delete, or preset the status of medications. (Your user role must have the Create medical alerts and Edit/Delete medical alerts rights.)
