Enhancements for Eligibility Responses

To help you better understand eligibility responses from payers, messaging has been added, and the layout has been changed.

Link for Upgrading to Eligibility Pro

If you use Eligibility Essentials, in an Essentials response from a payer, there is now a link that takes you to a website where you can learn about upgrading to Eligibility Pro to get better eligibility data.

Message and Link for Missing Payer Connections

If you use Eligibility Pro, if a payer returns an Essentials response because a Pro connection to that payer has not been established, in the response, there is now a message explaining that a Pro connection has not been established to the payer, and there is a link that takes you to the Payer Connection Portal.

Message and Link for Unauthorized Provider

If you use Eligibility Pro, if a payer returns an Essentials response because of a “Provider Not Authorized” error, in the response, there is now a message explaining that your Pro connections need to be verified, and there is a link to the Payer Connection Portal.

Updated Layout

In a response from a payer, the following changes have been made to the layout.

Header

  • Response Type – The response type (Eligibility Pro or Eligibility Essentials) was moved from the upper-right corner to the main heading.
  • Source – The source was moved from the upper-right corner to the main heading:
    • For Pro, it displays Payer Web Portal.
    • For Essentials, it displays Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
  • Insurance – The name of the insurance carrier was added to the main heading.
  • Use Ctrl+F to Search & Filter – This text was added in the upper-right corner.
  • Ascend Eligibility – This text was added in the upper-right corner to identify that the request was submitted from Dentrix Ascend.
  • Introduction – Text about Eligibility Pro and Essentials was added below the main heading.

Benefit sections

The sections were reordered as follows:

  • Deductibles and Maximums.
  • Orthodontics.
  • Coverage.
  • Frequency, History, Limitations.

Payer section (in Left Margin)

“Payer” was changed to “Insurance,” and the Insurance Name is based on the master Payer ID.
