EARLY ACCESS ONLY
Today, one right (View and Edit Schedule Templates) covers the whole Schedule Templates area: opening the page, seeing and changing template blocks, appointment reasons, turning online booking on or off, and dragging templates on the calendar. This change splits that into seven rights so you can give someone view access without giving them edit access.
In the “Schedule” category, the following security rights have been added:
- View Schedule Templates Setup – Allows the user to open the Schedule Templates page and the Online Utilization control. Without it, there is no menu item.
Note: Requires the “Review Schedule” right.
- View Schedule Templates – Allows the user to see the colored template blocks on the setup page and open a block to read its details. Calendar overlays and appointment search are unchanged.
Note: Requires the “View Schedule Templates Setup” right.
- Manage Schedule Templates – Allows the user to create, copy, edit, save, and delete template blocks on the setup page. Allows the user to open an existing block to view it.
Note: Requires the “View Schedule Templates” right.
- View Appointment Reasons – Allows the user to open the Appointment Reasons dialog box, including the Recare Types tab.
Note: Requires the “View Schedule Templates Setup” right.
- Manage Appointment Reasons – Allows the user to add, edit, and delete appointment reasons, and set recare duration defaults (including the “set duration from schedule history” switch). Allows the user to open the dialog box to view it. Creating or deleting recare types stays on Recare Setup.
Note: Requires the “View Appointment Reasons” right.
- Control Online Booking – Allows the user to turn online booking on or off. This covers both the legacy switch and the new “Online Scheduling” switch.
Note: Requires the “View Schedule Templates Setup” right.
- Edit Calendar Schedule Template – Allows the user to drag and resize a template on the calendar. It does not require access to the setup page.
Note: Requires the “Review Schedule” right.
Notes:
- The “View and Edit Schedule Templates” right will be removed in a later release.
- The “View and Edit Schedule Templates” right still controls everything.
- Every existing user role that has already been granted the “View and Edit Schedule Templates” right is granted all seven of the new rights. If you remove access to any of the seven new rights, remove the “View and Edit Schedule Templates” right, and then remove any of the seven new rights.
- For new customers, the Administrator role is granted all seven of the new rights by default, the Receptionist and Billing Coordinator roles are granted only the “Edit Calendar Schedule Template” right by default, and the Provider role is not granted any of the seven new rights.
- Every existing user role that has not already been granted the “View and Edit Schedule Templates” right is not affected. None of the seven new rights are granted automatically. If you want to grant rights to any of these user roles, you must do so manually.
