Medicaid is the payer of last resort, but the coordination order may be set up incorrectly in Dentrix Ascend so Medicaid is not the last plan in the coverage order for a patient’s insurance plans. If a patient has multiple insurance plans, one of those plans is a Medicaid plan, but that plan is not last in the coverage order, Dentrix Ascend now notifies you that the patient’s Medicaid plan is not last in the coordination order.
The notification appears in the following areas if a patient’s Medicaid plan is not the last plan:
- When you are viewing the patient’s insurance plans (on the patient’s Insurance Information page)
- When you are attaching an insurance plan to the patient’s record
- When you are changing the coordination order of the patient’s insurance plans
- When you are editing one of the patient’s insurance plans (on the patient’s Insurance Information page)
