Previously, only the “positive” responses to medical conditions and allergies on a form (such as when the patient indicated that he/she had asthma) updated the patient’s record.
With this release, the “negative” responses to medical conditions and allergies on a form (such as when the patient indicates that he/she no longer has asthma) now also update the patient’s record.
If an active condition or allergy exists for a patient, and the patient indicates on a patient form that he/she no longer has that condition or allergy, that condition or allergy in the patient’s record is marked as “Expired,” and the text “Expired by patient via forms” and the date are appended to any existing note text for that condition or allergy in the patient’s record. Additionally, when the patient indicates on a patient form that he/she no longer has a condition or allergy, an entry is added to the audit log. The entry states that the condition or allergy for the patient was expired by the patient via a patient form.
