New Keyboard Shortcuts for Teeth and Images

There are new keyboard shortcuts to help you quickly navigate and select teeth and preview images for teeth. Hopefully, these shortcuts will help you be even more efficient documenting an exam.

  • Up arrow key (↑):
    • Chart tab odontogram – With a tooth selected in the lower arch, moves the selection to the upper arch.
    • Quick Exam tab odontogram – With a tooth selected in the lower arch, moves the selection to the upper arch.
  • Down arrow key (↓):
    • Chart tab odontogram – With a tooth selected in the upper arch, moves the selection to the lower arch.
    • Quick Exam tab odontogram – With a tooth selected in the upper arch, moves the selection to the lower arch.
  • Left arrow key (←):
    • Chart tab odontogram – With a tooth selected, moves the selection one tooth to the left if the left-most tooth of the arch is not already selected.
    • Quick Exam tab odontogram – With a tooth selected, moves the selection one tooth to the left if the left-most tooth of the arch is not already selected.
    • Image Peek dialog box – Navigates back one image if the first image is not already being viewed.
    • Chairside dashboard view – With a tooth selected on the image panel (on the right) and the corresponding image being previewed over the odontogram, navigates back one image (up one image on the image panel) if the first image is not already being viewed.
  • Right arrow key (→):
    • Chart tab odontogram – With a tooth selected, moves the selection one tooth to the right if the right-most tooth of the arch is not already selected.
    • Quick Exam tab odontogram – With a tooth selected, moves the selection one tooth to the right if the right-most tooth of the arch is not already selected.
    • Image Peek dialog box – Navigates forward one image if the last image is not already being viewed.
    • Chairside dashboard view – With a tooth selected on the image panel (on the right) and the corresponding image being previewed over the odontogram, navigates forward one image (down one image on the image panel) if the last image is not already being viewed.
  • I (“i” as in indigo) key:
    • Chart tab – With a tooth selected on the odontogram, if images are assigned to that tooth, opens the Image Peek dialog box.
    • Quick Exam tab – With a tooth selected on the odontogram, if images are assigned to that tooth, opens the Image Peek dialog box.
  • Escape (Esc) key:
    • Chart tab – If the Image Peek dialog box is open, closes the Image Peek dialog box.
    • Quick Exam tab – If the Image Peek dialog box is open, closes the Image Peek dialog box.
    • Chairside dashboard – With a tooth selected on the image panel (on the right) and the corresponding image being previewed over the odontogram, closes the image preview.
  • Shift key + left/right arrow key (for selecting multiple teeth):
    • Chart tab odontogram – With a tooth selected, selects the next tooth in the corresponding direction (left/right) while leaving the prior tooth selected. With the Shift key still pressed, continue pressing the same arrow key as needed to select additional teeth, or press the opposite arrow key to deselect the last tooth selected.
    • Quick Exam tab odontogram – With a tooth selected, selects the next tooth in the corresponding direction (left/right) while leaving the prior tooth selected. With the Shift key still pressed, continue pressing the same arrow key as needed to select additional teeth, or press the opposite arrow key to deselect the last tooth selected.
  • Shift key + up/down arrow key (for selecting multiple teeth):
    • Chart tab odontogram – With a tooth selected, selects the next tooth in the corresponding direction (up/down) while leaving the prior tooth selected.
    • Quick Exam tab odontogram – With a tooth selected, selects the next tooth in the corresponding direction (up/down) while leaving the prior tooth selected.
