Emergency Contacts

In Dentrix Ascend, you can now record a patient’s emergency contact information. Also, if a patient enters emergency contact information on a patient form (new style of form only), that information will be updated automatically in the patient’s record in Dentrix Ascend.

To add an emergency contact person

1. Open a patient’s Patient Information page (with a patient selected, go to Patient > Patient Information).

2. Select the Related Patients tab.

There is now an Emergency Contact section.

Notes:

  • If you copied the primary contact person’s information for the emergency contact person, the relationship to the patient is “Primary Contact” by default, but you can change it. Also, if the primary contact person does not have a phone number associated with his or her record, you can add a phone number to the emergency contact information.
  • To edit the emergency contact person’s information, click the Edit (pencil) icon.
  • To remove the emergency contact person’s information, click the X.
